Drink Costs

Hello everyone - I'm new to the board, but not cruising. This will be our first cruise in 4 years:o !! We were wondering what the cost of a beer is on Carnival and to see if the drink coupons are worth purchasing in advance. And do they still sell the buckets of beer? Any info?

If you're a beer drinker, the drink coupons are NOT a bargain for you. They are okay if you drink frou-frou drinks (like me;) ), but not for beer. The coupons are $19.95 for four of them (making each one worth a little under $5.00). Beers are less than that, so it's a waste to use the coupons.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I have some other questions but I guess I'll start new threads since it's a different topic. Thanks again. We'll stick to those nice cold buckets of beer!

I just pulled my capers out from November 2006 and the drink specials were:

Day 1 Funship Special $7 .25 plus 15% gratuity = $8.33

Day 4 Goombay Smash $3.50 or $6.75 in the souviner glass + 15%

Day 5 Sweet Tooth & Midnight Crawler Martinis no prices

I don't have the specials for every day because I ripped off that section of the Capers.

Refills in the souviner glass are cheaper, somewhere around $4.95 + 15%.

The souviner glass is about twice the size of the small glass. I never buy the little ones, 8 oz goes down way too fast, especially in the heat.

Can't forget to add that danged 15% gratuity each time.
