QM2 Room Service Menu

In #20, kindlychap notes that "by the time breakfast reaches him" it's past its prime. In the next paragraph, he indicates that there's no reason to tip the steward who brings it ....

 

Wonder if those two phenomena are related? :D

 

I'd love to know how you work that one out.

 

Do you send the tip down with the order? Or wait until he arrives?

It is not a one shot game. Morning 1 just order coffee, juice, whatever but not a hot meal. Tip well. Order the hot stuff the next morning and see what happens.

 

Life is too short I'm afraid....

So we pay extra in cash for t ipping re. room service? How much is acceptable?

Can we put it on the automatic billing since we get nothing to sign?

 

It is already on automatic tipping. There is no reason to tip any extra, unless you feel that service is above and beyond the high standard that you have a right to expect. I cannot see myself how a cabin service waiter can actually do that.

 

Equally there is nothing wrong in tipping if you want to.

 

But it should not be necessary to tip to obtain good service, and it never has been in my case.
