Visa question

Hi,

 

We will be travelling on the Sapphire Princess leaving on october 17th to Beijing. We will stop in Shanghai, then Nagasaki and after that Beijing. Will we need a double entry visa?

Yes because you are stopping in Nagasaki between the China stops you need a double entry visa. Once you leave Chinese territory and then return it counts as 2 stops.

about 3 months before you go Princess will send you the information you need for getting your visa. I used the visa service princess recommended. I was worried as I had to do it with only a month of time as I was on a prior cruise I needed my passport for) It came in plently of time

You will also need a visa in Vietnam. Princess will handle that when you are on-board the ship...you fill out the paperwork the night before and they get the visa.

This is a wonderful trip. (I did Bangkok to Beijing on the sapphire in November)

We are doing the Sapphire in November, 18, 2007. Since you did this cruise a year ago can you tell me about your experiences with the weather from Bangkok to Beijing? Also, did you take meds for Malaria for Thailand and Vietnam? One other thing--did you eat meals pre or post cruise off the ship? Any problems with illness from the food?

The only visas you need is Vietnam (that the ship gets for you) and a double entry visa for China. Japan and Taipei do not require visas from citizens with a US passport.

Thank you for that. We will be travelling on a dutch passport and will apply for the visa here, hoping to save time. The Vietnam embassy was really quick. I sent the passports via the post and got them back a day later! Kids get only pay half price by the way!
