We were on Castaway Girl booked through Carnival (Castaway Barefoot Sail & Snorkel) booked through Carnival the week before last. It was actually our third choice because our first two choices were alreay sold out -- I couldn't make up my mind which catamaran to book prior to the cruise. We had a BLAST and would do it again in a second!!! The crew were wonderful, the boat was great, and the snorkeling was AWESOME! We've snorkeled in several places in the Caribbean (including St. Thomas two or three times before) but only Belize topped our snorkeling experience off Buck Island. The snorkel guide was so enthusiastic that you just couldn't help being as excited as he was. The rum punch (pineapple juice/rum) that was served on the way back to the ship was delicious and we were never with an empty cup, thanks to Sarah! I highly recommend this tour and would love to do it all over again -- and can't wait until we get the chance!! :)

This is the excursion my wife and I were thinking about when we're in St. Thomas in July. Is Buck Island off St. Croix? How long was the trip from St. Thomas to Buck Island?

Buck Island is about 45 minutes from St. Thomas -- I don't think it's off St. Croix, but I don't know what the distance is between those two islands.
