Sensation Question

There is a lobby bar, right? Is it on Empress deck? Was there always one there or was it put in when the ship was refurbished? I honestly don't remember seeing one when we were on the ship in 1999, but then, we didn't sit at the bar then as much as we do now. ;) We used to walk up to a bar, order a drink and take it with us. Now I think half the fun is talking to the bartender or just sitting there people watching while we sip our drinks.

I know that on the Fascination the lobby bar was added after the last dry dock in Fall 2006. Given that the Sensation was refurbished earlier that same year, I think it's safe to say it was a similar addition.

Yes the Sensation does have the lobby bar. I just got off the ship June 7th. Carnival added these bars to the Fantasy Class a few years ago after they became popular on their newer ships. I believe the deck is Empress.

Thanks! Do you know if they get much business at that bar, since that deck is mainly cabins? On the Triumph and Legend, we found the bartenders made the best drinks at the lobby bar, and they were pretty busy there. I guess we can always try the casino bar as well, since it's in a good location.

Yes, it's on Empress Deck. I had cabin E1 on the Sensation. I walked down the hall from my cabin, into the atrium, and had drinks at the lobby bar a few times.:)

The Atrium Bar is in the center of the Empress deck. (you will also pass by it as you walk on the ship, as the gangway door is right next to it.)

 

We stayed on the Empress deck on both our Sensation cruises this year.

The Atrium bar was usually quite busy.

 

We mostly hung out in the Polo Lounge on both cruises (so I could smoke an occasional cigar) and the bartender and server in there were always great.

 

The bar in the concourse of the Promenade deck was usually decently busy also.

 

None of them were ever packed to the point of having trouble getting your drink.
