Days can start out cool and foggy but as the fog burns off the day becomes progressively hotter. Sometimes the fog hovers around the uptown area all day keeping the area cool--in the sixties, while a few miles inland it will be considerably warmer. The best advise is to layer clothing when leaving the ship in the AM and then you can peel off layers as the day progresses.
gkrnjlr Posted July 5, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 5, 2007 We just returned from this cruise (6/25-6/30) and I agree! I would pack both shorts and pants/capris. At night it got pretty chilly! During the day, we were in port and it was chilly in the morning (sweatshirt at most was needed) and then warmed up quite nicely. Have fun! We did! In Philadelphia where we are from it can still be quite warm.
sapper1 Posted July 26, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 26, 2007 Can you advise the weather pattern for the beginning of October. In Philadelphia where we are from it can still be quite warm. We get some lovely weather in early October. The mornings start off crisp and cool--In the 50's but climb quite nicely into the high sixties in the afternoon. If it is rainy it will be coolish but a least fog is very rare then. If there is a hurricane to the south it will push very warm, humid air our way. We will sometimes get the tail end of a hurricane, but with one very notable exception in Halifax a few years ago, they are little more than a nuisance for a day.
