Caymen in December?

I was there end of Dec 2005, able to tender, water very warm. Go to the island website and you should be able to get the average air and water temp. A cruise in April 06 didn't make it in because of wave action. Then in May 07, made it to the island again. Just be prepared that you may not make it to the destination, but you will have a fun day at sea, make the most of it. Carnival will refund any funds you paid for shore excursions, and the private tour companies know the drill, they won't charge for you not showing up because the ship didn't anchor. Hope you make it!

There is never a guarantee you will get to any port... what happened last year, is not a predictor of this year.

We were there in December 2005, there were several days ahead of us where the port was closed because of rough seas, for our day it was glassy smooth.

None of that will matter for your day - :)

We were in Grand Cayman middle of December 2006. We were able to tender without any problems. It was a little windy but a beautiful day. We booked the stingrays with Captain Marvin and the water was a little choppy for snorkeling but we made it just fine anyway and had a great time. Hope it works out for you.
