ArkansasFish Posted August 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2004 When I look at the deck plans of the newer ships of today, more and more of the rooms are all the same size and shape. It seems like liners of the past hasd more variety, especially down on the lower levels with odd shaped rooms. So my question is: Is there any ships sailing today that have lots or more very odd rooms? I spend too much time on this board!
srphnx Posted August 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2004 The older RCI ships, Monarch and Magisty etc do, also some of the older HAL and NCL ships.
joramrose Posted August 29, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 29, 2004 And cabins, at least on lower decks of QE2, run every which way. But then, the grande dame is no spring chicken. love joan
Brucemcdou Posted August 29, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 29, 2004 ArkansasFish - I think if anything there is less variety in cabin layouts "down on the lower levels" today in the past. However, one thing I've noticed, and taken advantage of a few times, is that there are some quirky layouts in the cabins at the very front and back of modern ships. Take a look at the cabins across the front of Celebrity Millenium-class ships or Royal Caribbean Voyager-class ships, and the aft cabins on both. Particularly if you're willing to forego a balcony, you can get a real bargain with more space than a "standard" cabin of the same category.;)
