Irons on PoAm

Is it true that you can't take a iron for your cabin on the PoAm?. If this is true does the ship have a room with irons in it. I understand why no irons would not be allowed but since there is no laundry on board I thought there might be a place where you could at least iron your clothes to get the wrinkles out. Thanks

I would also like to know the answer to that question. We are staying for an additional 12 days on the Big Island after the cruise and will be bringing our travel iron for that. I hope they won't take it away from us. Should I just "surrender" it upon checkin to avoid the embarrassment?

Your room steward may allow you do use an ironing board and an iron from the ship in your cabin. Keep in mind they only have a few to distribute.

 

Preferrably NCLA would rather you use their laundry/pressing service.

 

Other ideas are to use a travel steamer, Downys Wrinkle Release, steam up the shower and hang clothres on the clothslline. All of these options reallly work.

 

Irons are considered hazards by the cruise lines. Please do NOT bring any. A travel iron is not the answer, use a travel steamer. Walmart, Kmart, and local grocery stores carry them for less than $20.
