Best Glacier Viewing?

Texas Giant

Recommended Posts

Planning an Alaskan cruise next summer (July/August '08) to celebrate parents' 50th anniversary. Of the itineraries I've reviewed so far, the main choices for glacier viewing are either Hubbard Glacier or Glacier Bay. Any suggestions?

Hi:

We did 26glaciers tour on hi-speed large catamaran last year in Prince William Sound from Whittier. It was about 5 hours and they advertise seeing 26 glaciers on trip - they zoom smoothly at 40 knots. We had dreary weather day but the boat got up close and personal with a few glaciers with others at a distance. Boat would slow to 1 knot and bump its way thru ice floats to close glacier proximity. Had lunch, heated and open viewing deck. - Good Trip
