Kim,

I've been reading some Elation reviews and two things that stick out are dissatisfaction with the security staff and with the purser. Rude, pushy, hateful are some of the adjectives used. How was your experience with them? Thanks.

Rude!??NO NOT AT ALL!!

They where VERY helpful!!We had a prob. with our daughters room key and pass to get on and off the ship..and they where Very nice about it and everything!!

Nobody was rude or anything..

Here are some of the things that we liked from the cruise!!

When we got off the Ship in Progresso..when we got back on..one of the men that worked on there had a silver try full of cold damp towls!!Hey used tongs and gave each of us towls!!It was really nice!!we like that very much!!There are so much more to say that i do not have time!!!!hehe!!

Ok..So you do not have to do this..but if you eat in the Inspiration dining room and you have the waiters Joel (from Philippines)and Rita (Hungry) or Henry (Philippines) and Nichole (Romania) tell them Randi said hi!!

See pictures from our cruise..And see the waiters!http://community.webshots.com/user/wards03

Have anymore questions just ask!!

This was a fun cruise! The entertainment was great. There were dancing/singing shows, comedians & a balancing act.

The staff was awesome. I found no one to be pushy, hateful or rude. They really know how to make you feel welcome and are very interesting people. I saw plenty of security and in fact, saw someone escorted off to somewhere. If I had not just seen the guy jump up and run from the bar, I would not have even noticed the security guard catching him.

Our room was on Riviera deck, inside. We slept later than normal due to the darkness in the room, so if you book an inside, set a wakeup call if you want to be up at a certain time. While Elation does not have hair dryers in every room, we found that they do have them at the Purser's desk for a $20 deposit.

We had no luck in the casino or at bingo, but I did manage to score a solid gold plastic trophy playing match game!

We ate every evening in the Inspiration dining room. George & Kristina were our waiters. They were very friendly & attentive. We had a couple episodes where the kids didn't like their appetizer and they picked up on that & brought out something else. When my son wanted peanut butter & jelly, they brought it right away & with a smile.

Our 11-year old spent most of his time playing ping pong and enjoying the water slide. He used camp carnival mostly as a way to meet kids his age. He participated in some of their activities, but not a whole lot.

Our 16 & 19 year old daughters spent dinners & shows with us, but the rest of time were on their own. They love the freedom on the ship and met about 10 others in their age range.

We did not do an excursion in Progreso, just wandered around town a bit.

We did the helmet dive in Cozumel. The helmets are very heavy, even under water, so be forewarned. It includes admission into Chakanaab. The snuba & dolphin swim & encounter are also done here. We didn't stay at the park due to some heavy rain. I think I would have enjoyed it more if we had been able to explore in comfort.

We did shark/ray alley in Belize. The boat ride is over an hour long, but it is interesting to see the tiny islands with houses on them as well as the mangroves. It was really cool to swim with the sharks & rays. I got to touch rays, but the sharks are very shy. We got the best look at them before everyone jumped into the water and at the end of the snorkeling when most of the others had gotten back on the boat.

Overall, the 7 days went really fast & I began to feel melancholy the last evening. Oh well, back to reality never is easy.

P.S. If you get cold easily, take a sweater as some areas of the ship are very well air conditioned.

Yep, we have about 24 people altogether and the ones who post are real nice folks. We're planning a little set sail get together - there is a bar on the verandah deck, aft, that looks like a good spot to meet.

The Navy is going to have a Destroyer in town for the bike rally (Theme is support the USA) so it'll be cool to pass it on the way out.

i don't think there is a luggage limit for the ship. seems like i saw some people with an awful lot. there are 5 of us and we had 3 suitcases that we checked in, then we each carried some type of carryon - camera bag, backpack, sportsbag & totebags. just remember, only so many bags fit in your room! our kids used the extra bunk in their room to put some of their stuff on. if your suitcase is not too fat, it will slide under the bed.

Cruisekimmy - were the three Polish girls that play in the Atrium bar while boarding and on formal nights still there? They play the piano, violin, and cello. We just loved their music. Roza, who plays the piano, also plays in Duke's Piano Bar for the first afternoon tea on Friday. Just wondered if they were still on the ship.

CruiseKimmy,

Just got off the Elation yesterday and had Henry and Nicolei in the Inspiration early seating too! Really nice guys. Really enjoyed the trip, had a few complaints, not many. Kids loved Camp Carnival.

Will be posting my review soon. Too tired today!!!!

We sat at table 279. It was a table for four, which, I'd prefer a table with other people, but my kids aren't always the best behaved at dinner, so I think we saved someone else from having to deal with us, even though the kids usu. ate with the camp. :).

Thanks for showing me your pictures! That was a very cute one of your kids and H&N. I need to get my photos developed soon....
