Zuiderdam Navigation Deck Overhang?

Looking at some Navigation Deck SS cabins... it looks like there's a pretty major overhang from the Lido Deck above...

 

Are my eyes fooling me or is this a pretty big "obstacle" to being able to see the sky, stars, etc., from these Verandas?

Yes, Lido Deck overhangs Deck 8 quite a bit.

 

Best place to see moon and stars is on Sports Deck, Observation Deck or from an aft verandah.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly. I was in a VA cabin on the Navigation Deck and the overhang did cover the Verandah but we could see the sky and the sun and whatever else we wanted to see. It was nice being protected from the sun during the day. I sat for hours reading and sleeping on the verandah. But like bepsf stated the best place is on sport deck. Fabulous views are there for your enjoyment.

I love being all the way forward on observation deck with my honey if it's nice weather and not too cold. Just strolling along after the night's show and a couple drinks.

 

For me, that is the ULTIMATE cruise experience!
