Buckeyebrd Posted August 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 28, 2007 We are taking a cruise on the Freedom of the Seas in Nov. We are looking for a hotel to stay for the night before we depart. We don't need a hotel that is expensive and on the beach, but would like it close to the port. We don't know the area very well so wanted to make sure it was safe. Does anyone know anything about the SpringHill Suites Airport South on 7th Street? Any input? Thanks,
jwlnroe Posted August 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2007 We are going down a day early for our cruise as well.. I have us booked at the La Quinta Inn Miami Airport East. They have free airport and port transportation and its only a $3.00 bus ride(r/t) to Bayside Market but you have to take the hotel's shuttle back to the airport to get on the bus.. but still that is cheaper than taking a taxi to bayside if you guys enjoy that part of town. Otherwise there is I think only 1 restaurant in good walking distance from this hotel. Hope that helps.

Did you look at Hotwire? The most popular downtown hotels are the Holiday Inn, the Hyatt, and the Intercontinental.
