Just passing along an unacceptable refund policy.

 

RE: Island Marketing

AKA: Belize Cruise Excursions

 

May 06: I reserved a tour with a credit card deposit

 

Oct 06: My credit card is stolen. I cancel the credit card.

 

Sometime after, there is an incident with a monkey seriously wounding a cruise ship passenger.

 

Island Marketing discontinues this tour.

 

Feb 07: I have requested a refund of my deposit amount of $86.40.

 

Island Marketing tries to refund to my (stolen) credit card, but is (of course) unable to do so, because the card has been cancelled.

The ONLY other option they offer is to hold the credit for a future tour booking.

 

Island Marketing will not process my refund through another credit card number or PayPal, or check, etc....

 

Given the circumstances, I find this handling of my refund unacceptable.

from what i know it might not be there call it might actually be the credit card company, i know most companies will no refund to a different card for liability reason and fraud of course. I am not sure maybe if you could prove via the credit card company that card was stolen they might be able to help but from what i have done with credit card companies i know they are really sticky about that sort of stuff because in the end they are the ones who deal with it.

 

you could also talk to the CC company they might have a disputes department that might be able to help you out.
