stephen@stoneyard.co.uk Posted September 2, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2007 Is this normal procedure? When we embarked at Dover we were not security checked. Our hand luggage was not x-rayed and we did not have to walk through metal detectors. The security staff seemed to be counting passengers and calling one every so many for checking. In these days of heightened security I was rather surprised. Regards, Stephen.

Guest Anorak33 Posted September 15, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 15, 2007 This was also the case last time we embarked at Dover. However at Dundee, our next port of call a fellow passenger had a cheese board and tiny rounded cheeseknife confiscated by security - don't they realise we have much more lethal knives available freely on board in the dining room or buffet? This just shows what a nonsense this sham of security is, especially for FO passengers who cannot remotely be described as a dangerous bunch of desperadoes. Is it likely we will storm the bridge and, flourish our cheeseknives and demand that the captain sail the ship to Cuba? Oh I forgot - it goes there anyway!
