i posted this on the cabin tips board and havent received a response. anyone here that can help me. i asked part of this question before but it is the seasickness part i am most concerned about

we have booked u16 for january 14 on the imagination. past guest upgrade from 4a. my problem is that my dh does tend to get seasick and I am now wondering if I have made the right decision. the 6a cabin is @ 150.00 more and that money can buy lots of hands in the casino or lots of drinks on the lido, but if he is going to be miserable the savings arent worth it. how much motion do you feel up there. I know there isnt any people traffic causing noise, but what about ship noises. any help would be greatly appreciated

My DF & I had a 5A porthole on our Celebration cruise last December (as well as our upcoming Sensation cruise in 2 weeks). The Celebration is a smaller ship than the Imagination, and overall the movement wasn't any more noticeable. On that cruise we hit 10-11 foot seas on our last sea day/night and the entire ship was rocking pretty noticeably, but it wasn't significantly worse in our cabin.

A couple things to note: On the night we had rough seas we did notice an occasional "booming" echo sound....we asked our room steward who told us it was the occasional large wave slapping against the bow. It wasn't anything particularly scary or alarming, and once we knew what it was we actually found it a little bit amusing. As far as other noises, you will hear/feel the thrusters when the ship is docking, but we actually liked this because it let us know when we were in port, especially when arriving earlier in the morning.

Overall the seasickness shouldn't be any greater of a problem in the bow. We greatly enjoyed our porthole room...very comfortable & roomy. Just pack some dramamine or ginger pills, and remember, if you forget to bring those, you can always get free dramamine from the purser's desk. Enjoy your cruise! :)

I had a port hole cabin on the Sensation. I didn't feel any more motion in my room than anywhere else on the ship. I was on the Rivera deck though and it's lower.

Make sure he takes something like Bonnie.

Quick question for you....did your 5A have one porthole or two? On the website it says 2 portholes, but when we sailed the Celebration (M21) it only had one porthole. No big deal either way...just curious of how it will be on the Sensation! ;)
