Lily'sMum Posted September 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2007 Is there anything to do in the immediate vicinity to where the ships dock or tender? We'll be on the QM2 in Oct. We don't like to do excursions at each stop, so we like to know which ports you can just get off the ship and walk to something interesting for an hour or so, and which you have to travel by car to get something worth seeing/doing? Any thoughts? Our other ports: Tortola, Barbados, St. Thomas, St. Lucia....any info. on these islands regarding the same issue is much appreciated!! TIA! TIA![/quote'] You arrive in St. Kitts at Port Zante. This is a short walk from Pelican Mall on Bay Road, near the Treasury Building. It has two floors of duty-free shopping, with souvenir shops and banking services. The Circus is also nearby where you can shop at the Island Hopper. It is located in the heart of town and sells original, unique quality products from handcrafts to duty free silks and linens. You can also visit the TDC Mall where you will find Splash Boutique which offers quality swimwear, straw hats and bags, Jams World apparel, teva sandals, Kipling bags, sunglasses, and t-shirts. A visit to St. Kitts would not be complete without a trip to The Spencer Cameron Art Gallery. It is located on North Independence Square in an old historic West Indian Georgian style home. http://www.spencercameron.com You can enjoy lunch at The Ballahoo Restaurant http://www.ballahoo.com This is one of the oldest and most popular restaurants on the island.
