Yes, well that storm has hit right now here in Brisbane. Thunder, lightening, hail, heavy rain..... It's all happening.

 

We missed all that out here in the western burbs...

 

Also, caught the star going under the gateway this evening.

Its still thundering and lightning-ing on the sunshine coast tonight - just about moving out to sea now (Caloundra). hope they are keeping ahead of it. But there is more following according to the B. of Meteorology site. :(

I spoke to a friend today who was at Portside last saturday seeing friends off and they were told when they checked in that they were not departing until 7pm as there was a spillage on the River and they didnt want the ship to sail through it . Dont know how true that is as I wasnt home to watch the news that night(if there was a spill, Im sure it would have made the news) or if the crew just said that to cover up more trouble with maintenance, and not to worry everyone.

Well it's actually true, there was a chemical spill at Fisherman Islands on Saturday, but it didn't make the news (as far as I know).

There was a chemical leak from a container that was being unloaded at the wharf. Whether it spilled into the river or not I'm not sure, but it did delay some cargo ships from leaving until it was cleaned up.
