Liberty - 7/20 - Flights $'s?

Recommended Posts

My family and some friends are considering booking the 7/20 Carnival Liberty cruise in Europe, but we have budgeting questions.

Has anyone booked flights for that time frame to Rome, and if so what is the average ticket price? I'm seeing pricing from $1100 to $1600. Wow! I've flown to Germany many times for around $500. Does the price go down alittle later?

Any suggestions or comments?

Thanks!

If you are doing your air seperately, it is too early to get return flights yet. You can only book air 330 days in advance and cannot get August 1 yet.

Summer is peak season for Europe. It is possible that prices may come down but if availability shrinks, you may have to play around with dates and cities as well.

I had been thinking of the Liberty on 7/20 as well, but 10 days off from work for my wife may not be doable. Instead, we may do Splendour of the Seas for 7 nts ex Barcelona.

We are going to stay in Rome an additional week. I've been to Rome before but with a escorted tour on all of previous visits. Enjoyed the trips but we were completely wore out from all the traveling. So, this time we hope to rest well before sightseeing and then cruising. I hope to give my 14 yr old daughter the desire to see Europe in more detail on a later trip.

When I've taken my European trips, I take my allowed vacation time plus unpaid time but it's difficult in most companies to even take time off. I understand.

I hope you can work it out, so that you can take the 7 day cruise.

Your quite welcome. If you are staying an extra week, you can probably start seeing flights by September 8 or 9. Besides just looking at prices from the airline, call a TA and ask if they can get you consolidator fares. Consolidators do so much business on specific airlines that they get price breaks.

My wife and I were in Italy and Greece 19 years ago and our teens really want to see Europe. The 7 day Royal Caribbean out of Barcelona looks definate and I will look to add an extra night or two pre cruise. My wife has been there several times as her company has an office there.
