robertzega Posted October 16, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2007 Leaving on Friday 11/16 for 10 day cruise on Princess/Emerald out of FLL. Four of us will be driving from southwest Florida to FLL on Friday morning in one vehicle. Trying to decide if we should drive our own car & park at dock. Does anyone know the cost? or would it be more frugel to rent a car for the four of us on Fri. morning in southest Florida and return it in FLL Friday afternoon and then re-rent a car for the trip home. Any suggestions.... We will be splitting the cost.
Bequia Posted October 17, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2007 If you leave your car at Port Everglades the charge is $12 per day. You'd probably save a few bucks by renting a car. Another alternative would be to spend the night before at a hotel that allows you to park your car for free while your cruising. The LaQuinta in Hollywood, Comfort Inn & Suites in Davie and the Hampton Inn in Plantation offer that option. They'll even provide you with a free breakfast and shuttle you to the port. ///////////////

GloriaF Posted October 20, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2007 As Bequia said, there are park/sleep/cruise hotel options. We usually drive to FLL the day before, stay at La Quinta in Hollywood, and leave the car there for the cruise. The car was safe and in the same condition as when we left. The hotel offers a nice buffet breakfast and complimentary shuttle to the port. You most take a taxi back to pick up your car. We booked online (LQ.com) this year for 10/30/07 and paid $95. Since I do not know the gender of the four of you and whether there are couples or just four friends, I can't guess as to whether you would need one or two rooms. We chose a king bed, but you could have 2 queen beds if everyone can sleep in one room.
