ElvisC Posted September 2, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2004 I am scheduled to leave on Holiday from New Orleans on Monday. Unfortunately, I work in the claims department of a major insurance carrier and all vacations have been cancelled. Unless there is a change in the projected path of Frances, Holiday will depart as scheduled -- without me aboard. I am having trouble reaching my travel agent -- I am sure she is swamped. I don't expect a refund, but will carnival give me a credit towards another cruise? What is the canx policy? My circumstances do not qualify as a covered loss under the travel insurance policy. Thanks for the help.
GoinCruisin Posted September 2, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 2, 2004 Hmmm, that is a tough one... if it is not covered under your travel insurance, that could be tough. Have you called Carnival and asked them? I know they are overloaded with calls, but you are in a tough situation... I hope you can, but they are pretty tight on that policy... give it a shot! tef43 Posted September 2, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 2, 2004 This is the type of situation where your employer should be the one reimbursing you for any out-of-pocket losses.
ElvisC Posted September 2, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted September 2, 2004 My employer will reimburse non-refundable expenses. However, I've got to show that I've made all reasonable attempts to avoid the charges, and I don't want to screw myself by not being diligent enough in getting a refund. hdawson Posted September 2, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 2, 2004 There is a premium travel insurance policy that does off coverage for such things. Check http://www.insuremytrip.com
