my family and I Will be staying overnight in New Orleans in Feburary 2008 the day before our cruise and we wanted to walk to Bourbon street for dinner and to see the French Quarter, will it be safe to walk back to the Hotel from the French quarter after dark? It doesnt look like very far, 4 blocks or so but am unsure on the neighborhoods that you are going thru?

any info will be greatly appreciated!!!

you should be fine.....stick together....there will probably be other people around....if the kids are little and it is later in the evening just be advised that the Bourbon street/FQ area can be a little 'adult'.....
