SittinUnderAPalmTree Posted November 13, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 13, 2007 If I'm not mistaken, cruise ships dock in La Romana, Dominican Republic which is a completely different island than Dominica. (pronounced Domineeka) I googled the distance between La Romana and Punta Cana and came up with 37 miles. Not sure how long the trip would take being that I've heard that roads aren't the best. I could totally be wrong about this considering I've never been there, but that's just from internet research.

And yes, Dominica is an entirely different country.
