Miami rent a car or not

In March my husband and I are staying at the Hyatt Regency before our cruise. We are arriving on Saturday and leaving on Monday. I can not decide if we should rent a car or not. It would cost around $200+ for the car and parking fees. I want to see the beaches and Miami. OR we could take cubs, shuttles, and buses. I don't have much experience with this. I don't know how safe it is either. Does anyone have any ideas or comments. Thanks for your help!
