Didn't anyone have a good time on this cruise? Yes, it was a little annoying with some rude behavior, but you can get that anywhere. My family and I had an amazing time on the cruise. The ports were great, black jack was a blast, Adventure Ocean was great for the kids, and I met some great people.-M

Welcome to the boards and so glad you had a great cruise!!

Hi Sue!

I just noticed this at the bottom of your post....I know this is completely off the subject and the cigarette subject is one that I never want to start or participate in BUT I want to say CONGRATULATIONS!!! How did you do it? My date to stop is Dec. 1st, after the cruise and Thanksgiving with the help of Chantix (heard so many great things about it I'm gonna give it a try!) Way to go....I'm cheering for you!

All I've read are negative complaints about the cruise. Sure, some people were rude (you get that anywhere) and some people didn't always act appropriately, but look at the cruise as a whole.

Did you have a good time at all? You were on vacation for a week with no phones, pagers, computers and nothing to distract you. Think about the beaches, the sun, the casino, the shows. You had to have a little fun...didn't you?

Many have posted good reviews on Adventure. I am one of them. Opinions on this subject, like most, vary widely. I have never been on a bad cruise vacation - I've been some that were better/worse than others - but a vacation is always better than the alternatives!!

I for one think it's time to let this topic go - more than enough has been said.

My sister and I sailed on the Adventure the first week of September and had a wonderful time. This was her first cruise and my second. Needless to say, she's now hooked! Of course we ran in to rude people here and there (adults, children, Puerto Ricans and other nationalities included), but we never let that get to us. A vacation/cruise is what you make of it and if you go into it with a negative attitude and believe that someone or something is going to ruin it for you, then they will.

Mindy, were you on this sailing? If so, what was your experience?

I was on the 10/28 sailing of Adventure of the Seas and I also had a great cruise. The threads about the rude people seem to be exaggerated in my opinion. There were lots of folks who live in Puerto Rico on the ship and the majority of them behaved no worse or no better than the majority of other nationalities. Most of the rude behavior seemed to be from the younger folks of all nationalities.

The cruise director's staff put on a skit after the Love and Marriage show that was hysterical. It was called FOUNTAINS and you should make it a point to see if you are going on this cruise soon.

I was on the 10/7 sailing and had a blast. Yes, the elevators were slow (as usual) but I noticed no rudeness or bad behavior out of the ordinary from any past cruise from ANY particular group of people. In fact, I remember thinking how quiet the ship was at night. Nobody wanted to party :(. The islands were beautiful and the excursions were a lot of fun. Our group was beat at the end of each day anyway.

It's very possible that the 10/28 sailing was very different but I would hope that anybody booked on AOS in the future keeps an open mind and enjoys the trip without the bias of the negative experiences some have had. It's a great ship, great crew and great itinerary. My favorite itinerary so far. I'd sail AOS again.

Love AOS...going again in a few months. I didn't let rude people ruin my vacation. You get that everywhere. THAT'S LIFE! I agreed with "buyreallylow." It's time to let this topic go. I can't see what's the big deal. Glad you had a good time "Mindy." :)

I was on the 10/28 AOS cruise and I think part of the reason for the negative reviews is that for those of us who cruised before out of FLA there was a different feeling to this cruise. The cruises I have been on have always been very friendly and this one people seemed more uptight. There was not a lot of interaction between the English and Spanish speakers.

Much of what has been written is true and some may be exaggerated. The ship is wonderful and I think the itinerary is as good as it gets in the Caribbean.

The best times we had during the week were at the beaches we visited.

It seems that most of the negative reviews are for the Aruba/ Curacao/St. Martin itinerary while the alternate weeks that include St. Lucia/Barbados are more positive.

I'm ready to let the 10/28 topic end but I'm interested to see the reviews from the 11/11 cruise.

For those of you that were not on the AOS 10/28/07 sailing, you don't have a clue! This was my 5th cruise out of San Juan, 4th on AOS. It was by far the worst cruise I have ever taken! Our dining room service was wonderful, our cabin was kept up well, twice per day, the islands were beautiful, our tablemates were awesome! That was the good part. My complaint is not with rudeness as rudeness happens everywhere, cruise or not. The issue is with the level of expectation that I have when I book a RC cruise. I expect it to be a cut above. I don't expect it to compare with Carnival & that is why I pay more! The ship is loosely run. Poor responses to health & safety complaints & ineffective management in general. My comfort on this cruise was compromised & it had little to do with rudeness!!
