Billys9319 Posted November 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2007 We are on the POA that boards on Saturday 2/2/08 and the ship is still in Honolulu on Sunday until 6pm. I would like to go to Pearl Harbor on Sunday morning and be back to the ship by 12:30 to see the superbowl. I'm thinking that a taxi would be the easiest way to get there and back. Are taxi's available at 6AM from the pier? Are taxi's waiting at PH? Not interested in hassling with picking up and dropping of a rental car. Ka Honu Posted November 8, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2007 You can call a taxi (I usually use THE Cab, 422-2222) to pick you up wherever and whenever. You might want to think about watching the Super Bowl from one of the many downtown bars, all within walking distance of the pier. Grab a little local color and meet some folks while you're checking out the commercials. I'd probably recommend Hank's (Nuuanu Ave between King & Hotel - Paul's a great bartender) or O'Toole's (Nuuanu and Merchant - Mike also an excellent bartender). O'Toole's is bigger and (or "but" if you're not a smoker) allows smoking (despite our silly law that says they shouldn't) - also has some brews on tap. No smoking or draught beer at Hank's but it's a fun & funky little place, probably slightly cheaper than O'Toole's (bottled domestic beer $2.50, premiums $4.00). Of course both have full bars but neither makes all that many "frou frou" drinks.
