bearhall Posted November 9, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2007 I have read that it is recommended to take malaria pills for a stay in India.Does anyone think it is neccesary?
Wendy The Wanderer Posted November 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2007 I'm pretty sure it depends where you're going. I certainly did not do this for a business trip to Bombay, for example.
dougburns Posted November 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 11, 2007 We were in Cochin, Goa, Mumbai, and Agra and no one said anything about needing malaria meds.
NJBelle Posted November 13, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 13, 2007 Many doctors, to be very conservative, will recommend to their patients that they take a malaria medication before going to India. Many people who just stay in the larger cities do not feel it necessary to take this medication, since all medications do have side effects. bearhall Posted November 13, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted November 13, 2007 The reason I asked the question was because the US Gov/health site says malaria is an issue below 6000 feet in elevation for all of India but, it also said there are no current outbrakes of malaria?
