derf5585 Posted September 5, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2004 When I cruised on Princess I was able "give" them my credit card for billing when I filled out my "Fun Pass" How does it work on Carnival. When do they ask for your Credit Card? Is it "Cashless" aboard? Is your door key also your money account card and pass to return to the ship. When do you reconcile you account? Any questions I forgot to ask?
pholter Posted September 5, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2004 Yes, you give them your credit card upon Fun Pass check in and they will bill everything to it. It is a cashless ship with the exception of the Casino, Bingo, and extra tipping (of course). Your S&S card is the one stop shop basically for passage, charging, and the room on the ships I have been on. Have a great cruise!

BigDoug Posted September 5, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2004 Yes, you can get cash at the Purser's desk. The Casino will also accept travelers checks.
alih Posted September 5, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 5, 2004 We are going on our first cruise on Legend on 09/28/04. Any tips for first time cruisers? Are the trips worth booking or can you just relax and look around the ports on your own?
Got docs? Posted September 5, 2004 #6 Share Posted September 5, 2004 Take lots of pictures, ask questions if there is anything you don't understand, and relax! Everything will be wonderful. If there is a certain shore excursion that you want to do, such as party boats and snorkling/diving--go with ship sponsored trips. Most are capacity controlled and if anything happens, the ship will wait for you. If you go on your own, negotiate taxi prices BEFORE you get into taxi. This way there will be no surprises. Just one thing to remember, if you go on your own to sight see or to beaches etc., if you are late returning, the ship WILL sail without you!!! Have a wonderful vacation!!!
