Public beach-L and A review

I would greatly appreciate the impressions of L and A, or anyone else who has visited that nice public beach in the Dominican Republic, vis-a-vis its name, distance from the pier (Casa de Campo); and, mode, cost and time of transportation to and from.

I am an American in LRM . La Romana but I have not heard of a beach called L and A. Give me more to go on.
