Amsterdam Drydock Apr/May 2009??

Looking at the HAL cruise schedule, it appears that the Amsterdam may be undergoing refurbishment of some description in April/May 2009.

We were considering a 20 night South America cruise in January 2009 but were a little uncertain if the ship was in need of some attention.

Any thoughts anyone??? :o

The Amsterdam is probably just undergoing its routine drydocking. Usually, it involves repainting the hull below the water line, cleaning the anchors, replacing carpeting, things of that nature. A ship, by law, has to undergo this every three or four years. I'm sure a 20-day cruise in Jan 2009 will be just fine; HAL keeps all its ships in fantastic condition, and I'm sure the Amsterdam will be no exception!
