macusa19 Posted September 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2004 This question is particularly regarding Progresso, Cozumel, and Belize. I would like to book outside shore excursions; however, I am not familiar with the ship time vs. actual time in the above ports. Could someone who has recently been on the Elation help me out with the time difference?
Stircrzy Posted September 12, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2004 Your Capers will have a note on Wednesday to set your clock BACK one hour before retiring for the evening. Thursday you will port off the coast of Belize. Thursday's Capers will tell you to set your clock FORWARD one hour before retiring. Friday is a sea day. Enjoy your trip! travel girl23 Posted September 12, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2004 Belize is the only port with a time difference. We left our watches set on ship time and had no problem. Any of the tours whether they are booked on the ship or off, know when the ship will leave and should have you back in plenty of time.
aggieastrosfan Posted September 12, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 12, 2004 I thought the only reason Belize was off was because they don't change to daylight time. That would mean that in standard time, Belize time would match ship time. Also, when they say the ship will arrive at 8 am in Belize, they mean local time, not ship time. p2lockhart Posted September 13, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2004 Aggieastros fan is correct. Belize does not observe daylight savings time. When Texas goes back to central standard time, the ships out of Texas will be on the same time as Belize.
