snake114 Posted January 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2008 We are platinum latitudes members, and will be leaving out of NY on the Gem on 1/26. In the past ALL of the latitudes members were eligible to wait in the upper waiting room, and were the first allowed through security and check-in. I have heard rumor, though, that now this is only for higher-end suite categories, not for all latitudes members. While we are platinum, we do not have a suite. Anyone know what the situation there is currently? Will we still be eligible for the VIP boarding? On our Sun cruise out of Miami in November we WERE on the VIP list because of our platinum status (despite only having an oceanview). It was great- a private lounge to wait in, and we were literally the first ones on the ship! Any updates would be greatly appreciated!
smeyer418 Posted January 11, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2008 In the past gold and Platinum were treated the same as suites passengers. NY also allowed all Lattitudes to use the upstairs area. Pier 88 has just been reopened(within the past weeks) its new with new traffic flow...haven't been there yet.
travelingwithfamily Posted January 11, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2008 We left from New York on 12/29 and the new terminal is open. There were two lounges - one for suite and VIP designated passengers and one for Gold and Platinum Latitudes passengers. The suite passengers were boarded first, then the Latitudes passengers, and then the rest of the passengers by number they were given on arrival at the terminal. Hope this helps. travelingwithfamily Posted January 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2008 You go through security as soon as you get to the terminal, then are directed to checkin and then you are directed to your respective lounge or general waiting area. EileenN Posted January 12, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2008 Are the Vip or Latitudes lounges handicapped accessible? In the past they were on the second floor with no elevator. Thank you.
