Newbe Question On Olympia (greece)

Recommended Posts

I plan to do it on our own. There is a fairly new train service from Katakolon to Olympia. I'm not sure of the logistics yet, of where the pier is from the train station, so might have to do a taxi for that portion, but then walk around on our own the rest of the time.

Good luck and have a great trip!

We were in Katakona in November -- took a taxi to Olympia and the driver waited for us (it was olive harvest season and if he went home in between his wife would have put him to work!).

We were among the first off of the ship and to the taxis (at least 50 of them lined up). It was great because we were there a good hour or more before the excursions. It is a beautiful national park -- with lots of signs (in Greek, German and English).

The train was running but because of our ship's docking and departure time, taking the train would have been a bit tight - and we really wanted to spend some time at the site.
