September destinations?

I'm looking for some suggestions about a good destination for mid to late September. We were thinking about Alaska, but after reading so many posts about the possibilities of bad weather around that time have decided against it. While I know the weather can be unpredictable, no matter what the location, we'd at least like cruise somewhere with a good average of nice weather for our time frame. Europe would be great, but unfortunately it's out of our budget this year, plus we only have about a week to 10 days and that's just not enough time to merit traveling that distance, IMO. Also, not sure about rolling the dice to the Caribbean at that time. So, I'm just out of ideas and would appreciate any suggestions -- cruise or otherwise. Thanks.

How about a 4-day Ryndam Vancouver to San Diego, 9/24-28, followed by a 7-day Ryndam Mexican Riviera 9/28-10/5? Or, if you could delay until October there's some north-to-south repositioning cruises, like Eurodam Quebec to Ft Lauderdale, Oct 1-15.

I went last year to Alaska in Sept and we only had rain one day at port. It was wonderful weather. To me, in Alaska you don't really want hot weather. A nice chill in the air screams Alaska to me.
