Half Day Sail or Full Day Sail?

Hey there,

First off, there are so many posts saying everyone that has done a sail on one of these 6 people sail boats, whether it be Island Girl, Jolly Mon, High Pockets, Rumbada, had been great - so I get the feeling I can't lose.

But- has anyone taken two different ones to compare?

AND -

I'm debating between a half day on Jolly Mon or Island Girl (simply because they leave from the cruise ship)

OR - a full day on one of the red hook ones. I like that they seem to include more drinks, and beach time. Rumbada is booked early April - my first choice cuz of amazing sounding food.

Can anyone offer more insight comparing some of these charters... or offer their opinion on half day vs full day?

For extra credit... anyone know of any similar options in St. Martin? (Seems like there are none... wonder why?)

Thank you!

I've only done the full day on the Rumbaba. The time flew by so fast, I don't think I could ever do a half day. I'd say after the sailing time and the time for lunch- yum! we had maybe 1.5 hrs for snorkeling. In St Maarten, there's the Golden Eagle catamaran to Tintamarre that is sometimes offered by the cruise lines. A better choice is the 3 island snorkel tour offered by Captain Alan with stops at Tintamarre, Pinel ( great restaurant there) and Green Key, reasonable too $70pp if you book direct.

We sailed on The Island Girl in September.. I did not want a full day cause we needed to get back and do a little shopping for gifts. It was perfect... I have had back surgery and am not a strong swimmer... they also have the power snorkel if you would like to use it.

We had an amazing time and we highly reccommend THE ISLAND GIRL.

Would we sail with them again ABSOLUTELY!!!!!
