Dolphin Encounter on Roatan Island

Anyone ever done this excursion? How was it and how much did it cost?

 

Were you able to take your own pictures? Do you get to swim with them?

Yes we did it last year. We loved it. There was a group of 9 of us, ages 9-60. I think it was $100 each but well worth the money. It's at a beautiful little resort called Anthony's Keys. We were driven to the resort and went into a little museum while they prepare for us. Then we got on little boats that take us to a small little island - very, very close to the resort, it's within their property. There were nice changing rooms there and a gazebo where we were able to leave our belongings. We got into the water in small groups, our group was able to stay together. We waded out about waist high, maybe a little higher. The trainer had the dolphin perform for us. Ours had just had a baby so the baby also performed, we got two for the money. That was fun. While that's going on there is a photographer taking pictures. Then we went back to get our underwater cameras from the shore. The dolphins kissed each of us, they took their time doing this and we were each able to hold the dolphin under it's belly and have it pose for pictures. We got lots of great pictures of our entire group getting kissed and holding the dolphin. We also purchased the CD because the pictures were great. I think it was about $40. After your encounter you are brought back to a cute gift shop where we bought the CD and some t-shirts. We really loved this excursion. We booked it through the ship. It's probably our best excurison ever - we've cruised 12 times.
