guarantee cabin question

Hello - We're 52 days until our cruise! We booked a guarantee cabin and have just got assigned our cabin number. Has anyone ever received an additional upgrade at embarkation? We booked an inside guarantee and received a 4E. This will be the highest deck we've ever had on a ship, which we think is great, is it?

Now that you have been assigned, chances are greater than 99% that you will be in that room. Not impossible, but very very rare to change after this. You will find the higher deck (I'm guessing Empress?) to be closer to most of the activities--just one flight of stairs and you are right there on the Lido deck.

Thanks for your answer. Yes, it is the empress deck. Actually we plan to do a lot of walking down the stairs for lunches and dinners. (going down's easier than up!) And also looking forward to just the one flight of stairs up for the rest of activities!

The Empress deck is my favorite....have a wonderful time!!!
