Copper Canyon train trip

Recommended Posts

In October, we took a Road Scholar trip that included, among other places, the Copper Canyon. Fabulous!! Be sure to spend at least two days in Divisadero and two days in Creel.

Has anyone taken this? What is the cost? Is it worth all of the time that it takes?

Thanks,

SS

JUST the train tickets (first class) are about $140.00.

Package tours (which usually include transport TO the train and three/four nights in a hotel ENROUTE while on the train trip) start about $750.00 for a 5 day trip.

If you can negotiate the language barrier, it is MUCH cheaper to do it on your own. But if your Spanish is NOT up to par, take a tour.

We have done both-even though I speak Spanish fluently, the tour was a much nicer experience.
