Can you use a Carnival 45 day letter on a Princess Cruise?

I just received the "Carnival 45 day letter" for a recent Carnival cruise, but I'm leaving on the Island in two weeks....does anyone know if Princess (since it's owned by Carnival) will honor the letter? It just states "To show our appreciation, we would like to extend a special gift for your next cruise"......no mention that it has to be used on a Carnival cruise ship.....thanks!

Although both cruise lines are owned by Carnival Corp, Benfits and things like your letter will not be interchangable.
