I'm on deck 8 category "N" interior cabin. Is that good? I can't find info about the different categories on RCCL website.

This standard stateroom offers two twin beds and a private bath.

Two twin beds can convert into queen-size and private bathroom. 152 sq. ft.

yes, thank-you.

I'm just wondering how my cat. "N" compared to the rest? How many categories are there? Is "N" the lowest? Are the rooms the smallest, the largest? (other than suites of course) I thought I paid a pretty penny for our stateroom. I would hope it's not the cabin category that everyone else avoids...............I'm a little new to this..................

Here is the list of cat's for you.

Deck N is only on Deck 2 or 3 which is pretty low deck. Deck M and L is a higher floor but the rooms are the same size. You just have decide if you want to use the elevators or stairs a lot or had you rather spend some extra money and be closer to the action. It is just a personal preference in my opinion. Have you looked at the Promenade state room it is a little bigger but not by much. However you get a window view of the royal promenaded.

actually, there are N cabins on decks 6-8 also.

to OP, I have never been in an inside cabin, but I do have one booked for my next cruise. I'm not positive, but I think one difference in cabins is the amount of people it will hold. Some cabins have pullman beds to allow for a 3rd or 4th person and that may make it a higher cat. I'm pretty sure that cat N cabins only hold two people. (I could be wrong)

Otherwise, I have heard many suggestions for the difference in categories but haven't heard a definite answer.

I think you will be fine in that cat. cabin. :)
