Do a google search for Dengue Fever or go to CNN. This is now an epidemic in Brasil. I would think twice before taking cruises that stop in Brazil, especially Rio. Hospitals are filling up. It is like the Flu and is transmitted by mosquitos. I has a very low probabilty of killing you.
