vinob Posted April 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2008 Hi Folks Thinking of booking this cruise, it has a number of days at sea. I'm a bit concerned regarding entertainment, some review sites say its not very good and everyone seems to have disappeared to bed by 9.30pm. Whilst in our 50's we still like nightlife, dancing etc. Also do they have daytime entertainment while at sea. Any advice appreciated. Only cruised once B4 so any info on weather/temp for crossing would be great.
JanineM Posted April 19, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2008 We did the TA on Summit just a week or so ago. We had five sea days together when we crossed the Atlantic. There were lots of activities during the day - dancing lessons, art lessons, lectures, art auctions, bingo, movies, etc., etc. There were also events every evening. We wound up in the bar many nights, and there was generally a pretty good crowd there until midnight (or later). The activities staff did a good job of keeping things interesting for those who wanted to stay up late. As to the weather, we sailed a more southern route (San Juan Puerto Rico to Azores) and it was rough and chilly. Granted, this crossing was a few weeks earlier than usual because Summit went into dry dock when we arrived at Southampton. It was not sun bathing weather once we got about a day out of San Juan. We had a chat with the hotel director one day and he did say that the sea conditions were "bad" for this crossing, which makes me believe this was an abberation. With the rough seas and poor weather, we would absolutely do it again next spring if the dates and ports were right.
