labs2 Posted April 4, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2004 Has RCCL discontinued the dolphin encounter in Nassau? I tried to book the dolphin encounter, and the RCCL site showed "This Excursion is not Available for your Cruise at this time." Not sure if it is because it is sold out, or there is not enough time. I wrote directly to the dolphin company and gave them our arrival and departure times, and they came back and said there wasn't enough time. If we can't do dolphins in Nassau, what else, really cool, is there to do for an 11 year old boy. Thank You! curly4dana Posted April 4, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2004 if you are within 10 days of departure you can not book with the website and have to do it on the ship! don't miss the dolphin adventure if you can! i took it in sept. on the explorer and it was without question the most awesome thing i've ever done! you might want to call rci and see why you can't book it. did you put in your res#? it may not be the actual rci res #. sometimes if you book with a t/a they give you a different number. call rci and check it out. enjoy! i leave in 5 days!!! whoo hoo! rick and dana (=^.^=) meow cabin 7614/early seating changing to late seating!!! Until the Brilliance of the Seas!!!! FlorenceItaly Posted April 4, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 4, 2004 About RCI's Doplhin Encounter in Nassau. I registered on-line in Feb or March, for my Sept cruise. It was charged accordingly to my cc. A month later or so I noticed the charged was CREDITED back. I called RCI and it had indeed been cancelled. They are no longer offering this excursion, at least on my Mariner sailing in September. I believe it has something to do with the vendor. That is the best answer I could get. I am sure glad I noticed all that I did because no one ever contacted me. I would have been disappointed to arrive on ship to find out it had been cancelled. At this time I have not made alternate arrangements through a private company. Please let me know, if you do. Thanks. I hope this helps. labs2 Posted April 4, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted April 4, 2004 Thanks all for the feedback~We are on the Mariner in July, so must be that they are not offering. The dolphin company told me by email that we are not there long enough to book direct. Still looking for something fun for our 11 year old. Thanks again. serious sealeggs Posted April 6, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 6, 2004 We sailed the NOS last week and had pre-booked the Dolphin Encounter online. When we got on the ship, RCI had refunded our money for the excursion. The Shore Ex has been discontinued temporarily because apparently the dolphin is ill. They have completely shut down their tours for at least the next two weeks. Hopefully, this will reopen before your cruise next month.
