Ah St.Thomas. I had booked the Ocean Racing excursion and so had to be up and out early. I ordered Roomservice and it was ontime and a great way to enjoy the balcony. The excursion was a great time the boats are very responsive and fun to sail on getting way up on edge after a few training tacks and manuevers the race began and we had a pretty good lead on the other boat. unfortunately they caught a good wind and made a good maneuver at the last turn and we lost but it was fun all around.

Family went into downtown to do some shopping while i was racing and they had a good time and i somehow had money left afterward :D After grabbing a light lunch on Lido we headed off to Morngingstar beach for the afternoon. A taxi was only 6$ PP each way and we arranged a pick up time which he was back for ealry even. It was pretty choppy that day and DD wasnt too happy with the water but loved playing in the sand and seeing the Iguanas, there were tons of them around.

We were back on board for our dinner and I beleive this is the night I had the weelington which was good. we were all too tired to make the show tonight which was a gentlemen doing sinatra and sammy davis jr. I hit the casino for a bit and we were all in bed early since we wanted to get off in Torotola Early since it is sucha short stop.

Tortola We got up ealry and had breakfast on lido then headed down to check out the island. Quick stop at the information desk suggested Cane Garden Bay Beach so we headed there for i think 8$ pp. what an interesting trip because you go up and over the mountains along some pretty crazy roads lots of bends and just barely fitting along another vehicle sometimes. saw some great views and were at the beach in about 20 minutes. what a beautiful beach nice calm waters nice clean sand, tons of chairs for rent. And most importantly Bars every hundred feet or so right on the beach :) After a few hours of swimming and tanning and dodging a quick rainstorm, we headed into the lil shopping and food area at the entrance to the beach. after reading here on cruisecritic how crammed the lido gets when you get back on board we decided to have burgers at a shop right on ther beachand headed back to the ship after that had plenty of time leaving the beacha t about 1245.

spent the rest of the afternoon depressed that our next stop was NYC. but got over it with some drinks on deck and time in the sun. I cannot remember what I had for dinne rthis evening shouldve started this earlier :o

Im going to wrap this one up and in a bit finish up with seas days and final thoughts thanks for listening again any questions let me know

As I mentioned in another post, we were also on this cruise. In Tortola my group of 8 split up in the morning and different our own excursions - 2 went to the Dolphin Encounter and my sister and I went snorkeling to Norman Island. Following our excursions we all then met up at Brewer's Bay. Like you mentioned, half of the fun might just have been the ride to the beach!!

We had been contemplating going to Cane Garden vs. Brewer's and ended up deciding on Brewer's b/c the snorkeling was supposed to be so much better. From my understanding, there is little to no snorkeling at Cane Garden. However, I did not realize that Cane Garden was lined with Beach Bars and little restaurants along the shore. Aside from renting beach chairs/lounge chairs or just taking a swim in the water, what else was there to do at Cane Garden Bay???
