Carnival and Flip Flops

Recommended Posts

From Carnival's official dress code: "Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Casual dinner for ladies and gentlemen: gym shorts, basketball shorts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, cut-off jeans, and sleeveless shirts for men."

Now, I've been on RCCL and I know that I was able to wear nicer, non rubber flip flops to dinner, but I don't know about carnival. I may just be over thinking this, but are nicer, non rubber flip flops alright for dinner? (casual nights, I'm wearing heels for formal night)

I think by "beach flip-flops" they mean the cheap rubber/plastic kind like you find at the dollar store. Your nicer flip-flops will surely be fine. I know that's what I'll be wearing. But, um, I wouldn't actually know from experience. I'm going on my first cruise in August!

You can wear leather etc flip flops - just not the plastic ones. I always bring a brown pair of leather flips flops and a black pair -covers most outfits - that way I only need to bring dress shoes, beach shoes, wear my tennies and maybe one other pair - they don't weigh much which is a bonus!
