  1. We book both cove and reg balconies. Like the coves as they are so close to the water. Downside is you can't sit and look out at water since they are half steel. Love that there is a cut out spot in the steel though, that you can see through and put up your feet.
  2. I am platinum with Princess and recently sailed on the MSC Divina. As stated above it is a different experience. Cabins: Princess cabins are very consistent and in good repair. MSC Divina our cabin had a broken draw that was missing the entire front. Our friends cabin (both balcony) had open cords running on the floor from the TV, cracked and chipped cabinets. Ship in general Princess - subdued and clean, nice tile work around pools. MSC Divina. One word STUNNING. Simply beautiful and yet comfortable Entertainment Princess - many choices MSC Divina - Due to it being an Italian ship, English is not the main language, so shows are musicals and opera. We enjoyed one, a tribute to Queen, but did not care for any of the other shows. Food We were excited to try an Italian spin on the food. We were disappointed and felt Princess was much better. Food is subjective and we are not "foodies". MSC Buffet was particularly bad We enjoyed our cruise on MSC. Do we intend on sailing MSC in the future, no.
  3. Agreed, never occurred to me. This will be incorporated in my routines going forward. Thanks!
  4. Thanks, I have read so many comments all contradicting each other. Guess I need to listen to my husband and go with the flow (don't tell him though) l
  5. Thank you! How long of a walk approximately? We don't mind walking. Also assume a taxi or Uber would be fairly reasonable as well. Glad to hear there's a grocery store nearby to grab some things before the cruise.
  6. Which side of the ship provides better viewing, if at all?
  7. We are flying in 3 days prior to our cruise out of San Pedro. Fling in Dec 30 and cruise Jan 2. We have reservations at the Courtyard by Mariott downtown Long Beach. Any feedback on this particular hotel? Suggestions for New Year's? Not looking for late drinking activities as 2 in our party do not drink. I read about fireworks...
  8. Awesome! Why are you thinking you won't like the Lido deck? We've sailed on the Lido deck. Found the rooms very quiet as there is very little traffic in the short hallway. We like being near the buffet and pool.
  9. Thanks. We are looking for a relatively inexpensive and easy transportation from the Orlando airport to a hotel in port canaveral area for 9 people. Any suggestions?
  10. I call my credit cards before traveling. The last two cruises as I listed my ports they stopped me when I said Colombia. Told me that credit card fraud is rampant there. Not to let my card out of my sight. Also said to have shop/restaurant call the 800 number on back of card vs letting them swipe the card if they claim the system is down etc. Never had any problems, but found it interesting that they singled out Colombia.
  11. We are! Booked a Lido balcony cabin. Also sailing the week prior with our 2 kids and their families...this cruise is just for us to recuperate. Lol
  12. Hi! We just booked 3 cabins. Taking our kids and their families. 1 balcony lido deck cabin (booked B2B with Jan 30 sailing) 1 balcony on deck 14 and one Family Harbor cabin. Will he looking for hotel in Port Canaveral the day before. We have been sailing Carnival since 1998 with many Princess cruises thrown in the mix.
  13. After countless cruises and excursions, I can highly recommend the Embera excursion. Very interesting and scenic. They also sell crafts made in their village using indigenous materials, great quality and value.
  14. We have done this tour also. It was the highlight of our trip. After cruising since 1998, it's still our favorite. They also have an area to purchase handmade crafts. Very good quality and great prices. We bought something the chief made. He charges $1 for every day it takes him to make it.
