Hi CC Friends-Does anyone know about receiving dialysis onboard? I heard from someone on"'cruise questions" that this might be a better place to inquire. My friend just went on her first cruise and after coming home and telling all the family about it, her father-in-law would really like to go on one. Thanks in advance for any information-Chris

We were on a Princess cruise a few years back where there were several people that were on dialysis - they had a setup for them - It may have been a special request - you might want to call princess and inquire.

They don't have dialysis available on all cruises and it's not a passenger request type of thing. There are a few companies that provide dialysis cruises. They are travel agencies and they take care of the booking the equip, supplies, everything. These are group cruises so they are only on a few selected dates and ships.

The downside is that if they don't get their minimum number of participants (varies by supplier) they cancel the dialysis cruise. You get your money back, but if you happened to be looking forward to the it's disappointing.

Here's a link to Global Dialysis which is a website that has a lot of information about travel adn dialysis.
