kite flying in cozumel?

my 6 yr old ds LOVES to fly kites & wants to bring his airplane kite with us when we sail on the carnival ecstacy 23 - 27 december 2004. is it windy enough in cozumel in december to fly kites? if so, which beach or locale would you recommend?:rolleyes:

Yes, it is windy enough in December. In fact, if a norte is blowing through it will be too windy. I just saw a box kite being flown out at Paradise Beach 2 days ago. I'm sure your son will have a blast.

We have a large stretch of deserted beach right beside us where your son could fly his kite without fear of hitting anyone! Just grab the last lounge chairs by the southern beach bar, and sail away!!

i think we will go to paradise beach. hey pb tom -- you'll know us by our 5' biprop airplane kite. it's pretty awesome.

Sounds great! I always pack a kite or two while hubby shakes his head in dismay but he always ends up wanting to fly a kite with me. It is so relaxing to me... I have not tried to fly my kite from the funnell deck yet..hmmm
