Saturdays in November

Sally or Tom maybe you can answer this:

Are Saturdays in November busier than any other time of year? I noticed that during most of the summer only one or two cruise ships were in port on Saturday while Wednesday and Thursday had 3 or 4 ships at a time. Now it looks like 3 or 4 on Sat. and 1 or 2 on Weds/Thurs or is it just something about this week?

We will be in Cozumel on Saturday, Nov. 27. There are 6 ships scheduled for that day. Should we expect crowds at the beaches? Where would be the best beach for us to go to that won't be too crowded?

Thanks,

Debbie

Ruffsmom...luckily in Cozumel there are enough beaches to go around for everyone. The place to go is Paradise Beach. 6 ships isn't really that bad. Now, December 8 is another story...think the last count was 14!

My guess is that in November, the ships that are sailing Alaska, etc. reposition to the Caribbean which may be part of the reason there are more ships in the area in the cooler months.

Actually, almost all ships are out of Alaska by September..maybe a few stragglers in early October. A lot of Panama Canal cruises start up in October (along with, as you said, repo cruses) so this will increase. Some cruise lines try to keep their ships out of the Caribbean during the height of the hurricane season (through early-mid-October). Plus, most ships do their transatlantic crossings in Sept/October and come back to the Caribbean this time of yeae :)
