Shopinpat Posted August 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2008 I want to plan a trip for me and my husband to Africa in 09. He is a hunter and loves wildlife. I on the other hand prefer room service! ha Can anyone give me some suggestions on must see's for the first time in Africa and where to definitely go? Not sure if I should be looking at a tour group (like Tauck) or cruise. Any Africa travelers with suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Pat:confused:

Thanks Pat:confused: It sounds as if a cruise/tour package would be perfect for you. We had 3 days on Safari followed by an 11 day cruise and that combination suited me perfectly. However, many other arrangements are possible. Check out our review and pics at http://www.elite.net/~thehalls/safari.html Have a GREAT cruise! LinP Posted September 2, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 2, 2008 If you are not set on doing this as a cruise, I have done two trips there and have great experiences with both companies I used. I'm not into hunting, so picture taking safaris are what I'm talking about here. Tanzania - we used Africa Dream Safaris. They were excellent. Private safari but prices were very reasonable - especially for what we got. We collected school supplies before going and they were kind enough to give us time to drop them off to the girls school I had found who needed them. http://www.africadreamsafaris.com/ South Africa, Botswana and Zambia - we used BigFive. They were great too - my sister and I traveled alone and never felt uncomfortable. Their prices have gone up quite a bit over the last couple years. http://www.bigfive.com/
paul929207 Posted September 2, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 2, 2008 We went to South Aftica, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Zambia with Overseas Adventure Travel last summer. It was wonderful, but not a hunting trip. We spent 3 nights in each of 4 camps at game preserves. Also 1 night in Joburg, 2 nights in Victoria Falls and 4 in Cape Town.
